Hey Good Lookin!

Winter Mane Maintenance:
Just because the Christmas party season is well and truly over doesn’t mean you can get away with looking like you’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards. Whilst your efforts may be more concentrated on working off the mince pies it might be a good idea to think logically and revamp you look from head to toe, starting at the top!

For hungover party hair simply stick to these on trend Winter looks to sort your ‘in-between season’ style dilemmas.

Plait Precision: Favourite with fashion fans all over the world the plaits/braids style is here to stay. For a seasonal Winter look keep the texture matte, Sebastian Matte Putty will help to achieve this consistency. The devil is in the detail so try to keep it obscure. The overall look will be fierce and if you keep the plaits thin, it reduces the mass to make it look untidy. Think ‘warrior’ not ‘princess’..

Top Knotch: Whether you prefer them slack or slick the ballerina bun is a perfect way to rock an on trend updo. Chic and effortless, simply twist your hair, secure and go. For more volume, back comb before twisting or for a sleeker ‘put together’ look try a bun ring. To achieve this style secure hair into a high ponytail and then thread the bun ring to the top of the ponytail. Fan the hair out so it covers the bun ring and wrap excess strands around the bun. Secure in place with bob pins and finish off with a spritz of strong hold hairspray to keep in place.

Slant:  This style is by far the easiest way to switch up your look. All you have to do is simply comb hair over into a side parting. The more extreme the better and this look was a widespread trend during Mathew Williamson’s AW catwalk shows. A slick side-parting gives hair an androgynous edge and a little extra mystique can be infused into tumbling waves. Alternatively for a softer look opt for loose sectioning when creating your parting

Dirty Dazzling:  For a look that screams grunge glamour you need to find the balance between straight and wavy hair. To recreate this look hair should be freshly washed with minimal styling, however the texture must be kept matte. Strands of hair should fall loosely down your face for a windswept look.

Retro Glamour: Diverse interpretations on Vintage glamour were seen all over the AW catwalks. Valentino took on the 40s with feminine twists, whilst Caroline Herrera echoed Bridget Bardot-inspired bouffant ‘dos. To achieve the look spritz clean hair with Matrix Biolage Full Lift Spray In Volumizer and blow-dry using a round brush to create ends that bend. Back-comb the very top of your hair and apply Unite Expander Dust. Create a center parting and brush hair on each side back to just past your ears. Twist the loose hair and pin it up neatly behind your ears as well as at the nape of your neck.
